GRAND AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR 20th ANNIVERSARY GALAXY AWARDS COMPETITION
HAMBURG PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA TAKES BEST OF SHOW ---- NEW YORK, NY – October 27, 2009 - The winners of the 2009 International GALAXY Awards honoring excellence in product and service marketing were announced today. Over 580 entries were received from 21 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, French West Indies, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, People's Republic of China, Poland, Russia, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Jung von Matt/relations (GERMANY) took the top honor on behalf of the PHILHARMONISCHES ORCHESTER HAMBURG for staging a surprising and extremely dynamic publicity campaign. One hundred musicians performed in 50 locations throughout Hamburg, on one evening, attended by over 10,000 people, and broadcast live online. Billed as "the biggest concert in the world," the event was certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. The judges were "wow"ed by the "brilliant execution" of this "great concept".
